About This Painting

This one began during a still-life lesson with my student. We set up the vase, mixed our colours, and barely spoke. For an hour, the only conversation was paint.

The palette drifted cool but stayed vibrant, and somewhere in that mix the painting slipped back to the 1970s: flowers found by chance, sitting quietly in a room, asking nothing of anyone.
