A creative week for older kids and young teens aged 9-14. Five mornings of guided art-making during the school holidays. Prefer Saturdays? Our mixed-age Saturday batch spreads the same five sessions across five Saturdays instead.
How the Week Runs
Each day builds toward a finished piece, moving through four real techniques with more depth than our younger camp.
-
Day 1: Sketching Fundamentals. Proportion, basic perspective, shading, and observational drawing. The foundation for everything that follows.
-
Day 2: Colour Theory and Mixing. The colour wheel, complementary and analogous colours, and mixing for tone and mood. Applied straight away in a short colour study.
-
Day 3: Watercolour Techniques. Wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, glazing, and colour blooms, building toward a layered watercolour piece.
-
Day 4: Acrylic Painting. Planning composition, underpainting, and layering acrylics. Starting the final piece.
-
Day 5: Finishing and Gallery Day. Refining and completing the final painting, signing it, and preparing it for our Student Gallery.
What They Take Home
A completed original painting. Real wall-worthy art, not a craft project.
- One finished, ready-to-display painting for their room or your wall
- A featured photo in our Student Gallery
- Techniques across sketching, colour theory, watercolour, and acrylic painting
